Resources
• Material resource
Step by step, GH acquired some basic equipment, which allowed children and staff to access for little bit more comfort for the daily life. Most of these resources came from the volunteer's projects. The stake is to maintain it as well it is possible.
Office: Grace Home takes place in Mhepi area, Kathmandu. Our vice president is lending us a piece of land of 3024 square fit on which we build the shelter. Grace Home started with the minimum available and no equipment was present at the time. Fortunelty, our development and the different projects done allowed us to improved the shelter's environment.
Today, our offices offer:
– 4 rooms (boys, girls, staff and volunteers), equipped with beds and cupboards.
– 1 kitchen and dinner room, equipped wit kitchen utensil.
– 2 toilets and 1 bathroom.
– 1 office, equipped with computer and printer.
– 1 playroom, equipped with library and games.
Water: From our land, we get water pumped from Katmandu's pipe system. Actually this water is really impure and dirty (condensed in sulfur). We only use it for washing dishes and clothes or for toilet uses. Then we use a water tank filter (running by electricity and chemicals) for the kitchen uses and to have wash. Finally, we try hard to provide drinking water (jar) in order to make sure the children health.
Electricity: We get a electrical line from our neighbor house. Although, thanks to the instalation of solar and electrical panel (volunteer project), we get emergency light for each room.
• Human resources
Human support forms a pillar of our organization. Indeed, our shelter is mainly running by Nepali volunteers, who some of them work with us since the beginning.
Four staff members live permanently in Grace Home. The director, a cook, a grandmother and a security guard are woking since the beginning. It should be noted that the staff have backgrounds similar to the children (orphan, broken families, helpless). Actually, they more like members of the “Grace family” than real staff. This aspect represents an essential part of creating a family environment.

One important factor of our story that has become quite apparent is the fact that without the help of volunteers (donation, time, financial support, suggestions…) our improvement and projects would never be realize. Nepali, foreigner and also visitor perform a substantial work and we are very thankful to them.
Nepalese volunteers: There are friends, students or believer from church. They help us especially for St Grace School, as permanent teachers. In Grace Home, they help us with various things (child care, tuition teachers, administration...).
Foreign volunteers: The voluntary service of foreigners is frequent in GH and have proven to be rich in experience for volunteers, children and staff. Based on the length of their service as well as their interest, they can be involved in Grace Home in several ways(educative mission, care children, organize various activities… ).
Get involved, join us!
• Financial resources
As a non-profit social organization, the committee had to bring the financial income for the Grace Home functioning, since the Nepalese Government did not provide any contribution. The day-to-day running of the shelter is possible thanks to the private donation.
From the beginning until now, the main financial source has been from the personal support of its members. Today, because of our development there are more and more needs for support. It’s through the arrival of local and international donations that we find supplementary support. As to give an idea of the needs required to reach a good balance in all the points (food, education, health, staff…) the table forecast budget 2009 is given.
