Background

Nepal's current political situation is sensitive and changing. The political conflict, which began in 1996, has caused approximately 13,000 deaths. It has hampered the delivery of basic services, restricted development assistance and caused a breakdown of family and community networks. Its heaviest impacts fall on children. Today, a large number of children live in a critical situation.

The shelter orphanage home is born from these facts, thank to a group of Nepalese Christian, who took the initiative to act for their society, in answer to the emergency needs of children.

The organization

Grace Home was founded as a non-profit social organization, witches running by its seven individuals, elected to form a representative council. Thus, we are registered in District Administrative Office (no 806-062/063) and affiliated in Social Welfare Council (no 20109). It follow the government rules and regulations, thank to the registration in PAN (no 302442182) office of Katmandu District (area no 3 Lazimpat).

Living in the same area, these friends and believers of the same Christian church, form the core of the committee. It aims to improve Grace Home as much as possible, through managing, administrative and financial parts.They regularly meet each other in order to review their actions and plans to prepare the future.

Statutes were renewed on December 14th 2008.

Our vision

Grace Home aspires to recreate the family environment as well as maintain the educational access. Our main objective is to look after the children until they reach their majority, providing all the primary needs (home, food, care and security).

Then, the second objective is to give them the opportunity to be educated and qualify person and making sure they are handed the key for success to start their adult life.
